A little Talking Goes A long way

Well I got to see my cowboy last night. He came home and we spent hours chatting away about whats going on in our lives. He's so busy with his work right now that I think he's alittle stressed out by it all. He's ready for a rest but I don't think thats coming anytime soon. He came home (he lives in the same building as me not in the same "house") just long enough to grab a change of clothes then he was off again.
Oh well thats his life in a nuts shell. As for me well.... it's stampede time here in the ville so it get out your western gear time. I went looking for a cowboy hat today and yes I am now the proud (and slighty embarrassed) owner of a cowboy hat. A real proper bought from a cowboy store hat! Lets just hope it doesn't wind up in a fryer or two! I took my friend out shopping with me mainly just to get her out of the house. She's still on maternity leave but she's getting bored being home all day and it's too hot outside for her to take the kids out. So off we went shopping and I'm pretty sure I spent way more money today than I should of but *muh* I'll survive.
I should probably get some groceries in too as the chef's mum is arriving in a few days and she probably would like some food to eat!. Maybe I'll wait til she arrives and then I'll take her to the store and see what she wants.
In all honesty I'm a little sick of cleaning though. I've pretty much got this place spotless and we all know how much I LURVE to clean! (NOT).
Anyway I guess I'd better header go do some more organising of some sort!
Catch y'all later pardners!

Unable to Sleep

It's closing in on midnight and I've laid in bed for over an hour. For some reason tonight I fear being her alone. I've never been bothered about being home alone before but tonight it's really really bothering me. As a result I can't sleep and I have thought running through my head that aren't exactly helping.
I'm missing my cowboy. As much as we said we would be friends and we are staying friends I miss him terribly. I was afraid to monopolise him, that he would waste his life on me or with me and then 5 years down the road I would decided that his lifestyle isn't for me or that we'll grow apart . What I fear most is the repitition of my marriage which slowly deteriorated over time to a point where there was no going back.  It a fear that is gripping me right now and not allowing me to move on. I almost totally lost the cowboy from my life because of that fear.
He is such a wonderful person. Very respectful and loving but he too is afraid.  I see it sometimes in his eyes but we don't talk about it. I have a hard time bringing up these subjects and I think he does too.
It's hard to talk to him about what went on in my marriage. I dont want to hurt him but I do want to be able to spoil him and share things with him. Most of all I want him to be able to understand why I sometimes do the things I do.
Maybe I need to direct him to this blog so he can see what has been going on in my life over the past year. It's a sneak peek into my world. My life and my take on things. The world seen through a crazy chef's eyes.
I'm still not tired but this has helped to unburden. After all this was why I started the blog in the first place!
Happy sleeping guys

A little Sadness

I'm a little sad and down at the moment. Me and the cowboy have broken up. He didn't see it going anywhere and figured why keep it going. I got mad at him over the weekend and I think that pre-empted it a bit. I was getting too clingy for him I think and I never meant to get that way.
He's a really nice guy and I hope he finds a girl worthy of his love. He's very caring and giving and thats what I liked most about him. He shared a lot with me and opened up my eyes to a whole different world out there. To one that I never really knew existed.
Its amazing how people can live in this huge global village but never see how other people live. Then there's me. Those few of us that don't really belong anyway that have experienced so many cultures and ways of life that to find one that I hadn't yet touched blew my mind and left me wondering how many more parrellel "ways of life" are there out there yet to be explored.
How many different mindsets and brains to pick. It's not just a race thing it's not even an area thing is subcultures living side by side and never touching each other. Never dipping into the other side of life. It's amazing and yet disturbing at the same time. It's the paradox and enigma of life.

Please! Stop the craziness!

The past week has just been crazy. It's been insanely busy at work with me doing a 12 1/2 hour shift and mostly 10 hour shift instead of my usual 8. Sales are WAY up. Higher than anyone could have predicted which has us all working our butts off. It's running smooth though which is a good thing.
Our food order has jumped by over $3K naturally so I'm getting quite the workout! If this continues much longer I'll wind up looking like a body builder instead of just being tone! Heehee!
Today is my friends wedding and I am making her wedding cake. I will post pictures when I can. I don't have a digital camera and my webcam won't reach down to the kitchen. I have to wait for my pictures to get developed first.
I'll be going to the wedding by myself (this will be the third one by myself) because I left the choice up to the b/f and he chose to head out to his ranch instead. Jilted for some cows!
Seeing as I'm catching up here's my TV Tuesday. Better late than never guys.

Everyone knows all of us who "stay at home" for one reason or another do nothing but sit and watch TV right? That was a joke, just for the record. Most people get a chance to watch TV at some point during the day and this week we're going to explore your watching habits! This week's topic is daytime TV!

1. Daytime TV: "Gimme my soaps", "Talk shows please", "More of a Game show person", or "Home shows are best!!"
I like to watch the occasional talk show and I used to love watching all the home shows. I'm not home much during the day but if I can I like to catch Oprah and/or Dr. Phil.

2. One of the latest trends in Daytime TV is re-runs of 80's & 90's hit shows, what is your favorite that's re-running now? If you don't have one which show would you like to see re-running?
I'm not sure whats re-running right now but they are funny to watch just for the clothes and hair and attitudes we used to have.

3. What's your all time favorite day time show?
Oprah,Dr. Phil

~Bonus~ There's lots of noise about Daytime soaps pushing the limits of what's acceptable on TV, but the soaps claim they're just keeping up with changes in society, so which is it? Are the soaps over the edge? Or has society brought it on itself?
IMHO there are enough quirks in society that we already klnow are there and acknowledge quietly without having it blasted into our living rooms at 3pm in the afternoon (or earlier) and having to explain to the kids whats going on and about stuff kids don't need to know about. Kids should be able to flick through the channels to find their shows without having to go through 5 channels of "that" crap. I agree with the if you don't like it turn it off mentallity but when you need to block about 6 or 7 "family" channels during the day its a bit excessive. In England they have the watershed which is a 9 o'clock curfew and what is shown before 9 is deemed appraopriate for families (about a PG Not more than a 14 rating). Anything unsuitable is shown after 9 and the more "adult" (18 rating perhaps R and could be offensive) after 11pm or midnight.
Well thats my 2 cents worth.

Catch you all soon hopefully

Fun and Frolicking!

Well the election is over and the usual people around here got back in again. I'm glad they got back in because they have done and continue to do a lot for our area. I'm not so impressed that the Liberals got back in though but muh *shrugs* what'ya gonna do.
It was Canada day here on the first so Happy Canada Day to all the canucks that stop by. I was actually crossing the border on Canada DAy heading down to the states to drop a friend at the airport in Great Falls Montana. I felt very out of place and very English which hasn't happened to me in a long long time. It was my first ever trip to the states and I have to say everything is bigger!
It was weird trying to read the middle of my speedometer for the MPH instead of the outside which is in KmPH. That also lead to some confusion about why we weren't getting as close to the city when the odometer said we should be long past it. Til we remember to convert it to miles not Km's! heehee.
We went to Old Navy and I bought a T-shirt then we went to Applebees for supper. A lot of the Applebees menu is very much the same as the restaurant that I work in. We also went out later on to DQ for a snack and I discovered you guys have mint chocolate Dilly bars!!! OMG I was in heaven! We only get vanilla ones here in Canada. (I saved the wrapper for proof that I wasn't dreaming!) :)
The next morning after I had dropped my friend at the airport I went for a wander around Great Falls and discovered Target. I'm in love! As soon as I can save up money I'm heading back down and going on a shopping spree. There was so much in that store that I could have bought and it was sooooo cheap! I headed back to Canada and crossed back over at lunch time getting back home in the early afternoon.
All in all it was a good trip and I can't wait to do it again some time. Maybe if I head East and some of you head West we can meet in the middle somewhere! Although it might take a couple of days of driving to do it!
Any way its back to the grind for me but for all you Americans dropping in HAppy 4th of July. Have a great weekend and don't party too hard, you want to at least remeber some of it!

Take 'er easy guys
